The investigation into the death of Isak Andic, founder of Mango, has taken a new turn. The judge in Martorell overseeing the case has ordered further inquiries to determine whether, in addition to Jonathan Andic, other people may have been connected to the events that took place on 14 December 2024 during a hike in Montserrat.
The case was initially treated as a possible mountain accident, but it later moved into criminal proceedings after the court identified indications pointing to the businessman’s eldest son. The judge now believes it is necessary to broaden the scope of the investigation before taking further procedural decisions.
According to the judicial order, the investigating judge wants to establish whether a third party may have been involved, either directly or indirectly. This possibility opens a new line of inquiry in a case that remains ongoing.
Family therapist comes under scrutiny
One of the issues the court wants to clarify is the role of the psychologist who treated several members of the Andic family. The order specifically refers to the need to examine whether the therapist, identified by the initials J. L., may have had any involvement in the events under investigation.
The ruling also calls for a review of Jonathan Andic’s communications before and after his father’s death. Prosecutors have also requested further steps aimed at determining whether third parties may have influenced the course of events.
Father-son relationship remains central to the case
The judge continues to point to indications of a possible active, premeditated and planned involvement by Jonathan Andic in the death of the Mango founder. However, the investigation remains open and no final conviction has been issued.
The relationship between father and son is one of the key elements in the proceedings. Although relatives and people close to the family had described their relationship as good, the judge believes that messages recovered from Isak Andic’s phone may suggest a more complex situation.
Financial tensions also under examination
The court is also looking into possible financial disputes within the family. According to documents included in the case, Jonathan Andic allegedly raised during several therapy sessions the possibility of receiving an “early inheritance” from his father.
The psychologist’s testimony is among the material now being reviewed by the investigating judge. According to the order, those sessions addressed family and financial disagreements that may be relevant to understanding the context of the events.
Through these new inquiries, the judge aims to complete the reconstruction of the case and determine whether Isak Andic’s death can be attributed solely to the actions under investigation involving his son, or whether other people may also have played a role.
